Lacuna Festivals

July 1-29, 2023 Lacuna Festivals International Contemporary Art Festival, Lanzarote, Spain 

Odessa's body of work has been selected and her sculpture Baptismal of Joy will be in the Physical Gallery in Spain. She will be leading workshops, a poetry slam as well as participating in the festivals collaborative projects. More to come!!!

It’s not every artist who will create grand art just to see it vanish, but Odessa Ford is not a typical artist.

Ford is an earthscape artist who creates elaborate sand art designs on central Oregon beaches using only rakes and sand as her canvas. Lasting sometimes only minutes, the waves eventually reclaim her work. leaving her left with only photographs and memories of the experience.

She has made about 35 of them over the past few years and feels like it is something she was born to do, although that passion came a little later in her life.

Ford earned a BFA in painting and holds a Master of Educational Technology degree from Boise State University. She had lost touch with her artistic side until the death of her first husband in 2016. Part of her healing process was starting to paint again, and Ford said she remade herself. “I shaved my head, and I just decided I needed to do what I needed to do for me. Rise from the ashes fundraiser

After wildfires devastated Oregon in the fall of 2020, Odessa Ford, along with several other local artists, donated their time and talents to raise money for the victims of the Echo Mountain Complex Fire. This devastating fire decimated the town of Otis, Oregon. 

Ford created this magnificent Phoenix on the Beach in Lincoln City in Early October. The online fundraiser raised over $2000 for the victims of the fire. 

Lacuna Festivals 2021

Odessa Ford was one of 328 artists who participated in this month long world art festival. The Lacuna Festivals 2021, located in Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, kicked off on July 2nd and ends August 1st. Be Leaf 2021 llano earth art festival online 

Odessa Ford was one of 150 Land artists, from all over the world, who participated in the Be Leaf 2021 Llano Earth Art Festival online event. She Created this Beautiful Earthscape; Tree of Life Labyrinth on the Beach in Lincoln City Oregon for the event! The event went live all over the world and Odessa was honored to close out the first day of the festival with her live broadcast from the Starfish Manor Oceanfront Hotel on Saturday March 27, 2021 at 6 PM PDT.
